Touring the Vineyards of Italy
Too Numerous to List, Too Picturesque to Miss!

Since antiquity the Italians have woven the finer things into the fabric of everyday life: exquisite art, sumptuous food and a seemingly endless supply of wine. Until recently, travellers have revealed only in the taste of the wines while the magnificent wineries of Italy remained elusive to all but a lucky few.

Italy is a country of 20 distinctive regions; each a wine region of its own. From the North to the South the climate reaches from the refreshingly cool to the dazzling hot. This gives origin to a diversity of different kinds of grapes and many a style of wine, amongst which some of what are today considered some of the world's most famous.

Visiting the wineries can be done on your own (see the section "touring the wine regions on your own") or you can have it organized by one the many companies that propose tours; either week-long or day tours into the wine country.
